Teacup Yorkies are assertive, energetic,
affectionate and playful little babies. They love to play
with toys and love attention and affection from
their family. While very responsive in obedience
training, this breed is extremely smart and learns fast
and easy and is a pleasure to train!
The teacup yorkie breed gets along well with
other animals, even cats and adores children.
Yorkies will bark to announce the arrival of
strangers making them excellent watchdogs, but it’s simply
to alert you, and this type of dog is very friendly
towards people.
A Yorkie’s coat is silky, straight, long, glossy
and fine and people tend to either part the hair on their
heads or tie it up with bows. The hair on their muzzles is
very long and the coat color is steel blue and gold, though
puppies are generally black and tan. My puppies all have
baby doll teddy bear faces with a short snout.
Yorkies need to be brushed and combed to
maintain their beautiful silky hair. We usually dress them
up in clothes and put little bows in their hair. A quick
walk around the block, a couple of times a day is enough
exercise for them. All my puppies are wee wee pad
trained and some of my older puppies are totally
housebroken and obedience trained.
Yorkies originated in 19th century England.
